Collective has partnered with a trusted 3rd party provider, Registered Agent Solutions Inc. also known as RASi to provide registered agent services to Collective Members' LLCs. When setting up your LLC, we designate RASi as your registered agent. If you've joined Collective with an existing LLC, we can file a change of registered agent for RASi to become your registered agent.
The cost of these services is included in your membership fee. We collaborate closely with RASi to ensure that if your LLC receives any state notices or services of process, you will be promptly notified.
What is a Registered Agent?
Think of a registered agent as your LLC’s reliable point of contact for receiving important legal documents. This includes everything from tax notices and government correspondences to legal summons. They ensure these critical documents are promptly delivered to you, help keep your compliance in check by reminding you of filing deadlines, and protect your privacy by keeping your personal address off public records.
How Does the Switch to RASi Work?
When you form your LLC or register in a new state with Collective, we automatically appoint RASi as your registered agent. Already have an LLC and want to switch to RASi? Just let us know! We handle the paperwork and make the transition smooth and hassle-free.
What Does It Cost?
Great news—there’s no extra charge for registered agent services with RASi! It’s all included in your Collective membership. If you need to register in additional states, we’ll manage that for you for a simple annual fee, billed directly through your Collective account.
How Long Does the Transition Take?
The time it takes to switch registered agents can vary. Some states are super quick with online updates, while others might take a few weeks to process changes. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
Can I Be My Own Registered Agent?
Absolutely, you can choose to be your own registered agent if you prefer. However, keep in mind that this role requires you to be available during standard business hours to accept legal documents. If you’re often out and about or prefer not to receive legal documents in public, having a commercial registered agent like RASi might be a better fit for your needs.
