We assume that you only need to file tax returns in the state in which you live and/or your S Corp is registered.
However, if you earn income from a state where you don't live and your S Corp is not registered, you may have a filing requirement in that state. This could include working with clients based in that state, having a physical presence (like an office or property), paying employees there, or conducting other business activities that establish a tax obligation. If that applies to you, let us know so we can help determine your filing obligations. If a state return is required, we can file it for you for an additional fee.
You can notify us simply by messaging us using the message center in the Dashboard to let us know if you've met one of the above criteria!
