To create and send a new invoice to your clients, follow the steps below.
- Click New Invoice to send an invoice.
- Choose a client from the drop down list or add a new client. The client's email address, CC, and BCC fields will auto-populate. You can also edit these fields.
- Add service lines items, quantity, and price and click Save.
- To add sales tax to a service line, click Add Tax. Enter your tax rate and click Save. The sales tax will be displayed as it's own line on your invoice.
- Click Attach File to add a file attachment to your invoice. You can add multiple attachments.
- Edit the Message box to update your invoice message. You can set a default invoice message in your invoice settings.
- Adjust the invoice date. If you set a future date, your invoice will be scheduled to be sent on that date.
- Select a payment term. If you'd like a due date not associated with a payment term, select Other and adjust the Due Date.
- Set your invoice frequency. Choose one time or weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or yearly recurring schedule.
- To send automatic payment reminders, check Send payment reminders. You can adjust your payment reminder schedule in your invoice settings.
- Add a discount percentage or dollar amount.
- When you've completed your invoice, click Next.
- Select your preferred payment processing options. You must have a Stripe account connected to select credit card and ACH processing.
- Choose how you'd like to save and send your invoice. Your options are:
- Save final without sending: This will save a final, uneditable version of your invoice but will not send it to your client.
- Save final and create link: This will save a final, uneditable version of your invoice and generate a link to share with your client.
- Save as draft: This will save a draft, editable version of your invoice that you can adjust or send later.
- Save as quote: This will send an estimate to your client to review. You can edit and convert the quote to an invoice later.
- Save and send: This will save a final, uneditable version of your invoice and send it to your client immediately or on a future date.
