We know that sometimes tech doesn’t always work quite like magic. Don’t worry, if you hit a snag, here are some quick tips to get you back on track and logged in seamlessly.
Login methods
We offer three different methods to log into your Collective account:
- Credentials: Logging in via email and password
- Email me a link: We will email you a magic link for a faster, seamless login
- Google login: Link your Google account directly
Tips and tricks for troubleshooting login issues
Each login option has a different set of troubleshooting options, let’s navigate through those together!
Credentials
- Enter your email address and password to log into your Collective account
- Select Continue
If you run into challenges logging in using your credentials:
- Verify that you do not have cap or number locks on. Passwords are case sensitive.
- Use incognito mode to ensure third party extensions are not interfering with the password you entered
- If you still get the same error, select Forgot your password? located at the bottom of the page to reset it
Forgot your password?
Not a problem! If you forgot your password, you can reset it using the following steps:
- Select Forgot your password at the bottom of the page
- Enter the email address associated with your Collective account
- Please note: You must use the email tied to your account or you will not receive the email to reset your password.
- Select Reset my password
- You will receive a confirmation message
- Navigate to the email inbox of the address associated with your Collective account. You should have received an email titled Reset your Collective password
- Select Reset password
- You will be asked enter a new password and confirm it
- Select Reset password
- You should now be able to navigate back to the main page and use your credentials to log into your Collective account
Email me a link (Magic links)
Having trouble with the “Email me a link” login? All you have to do is make sure that you are entering the email address we have on file for you.
- Select Email me a link
- Enter the email address you wish to use. The magic link will be sent to this email.
- Check the inbox of the email address you entered and you should have received an email titled “Your Collective Login Link - [May 05, 2025 | 11:27:49 PST]”.
- It will have a time and date stamp since the link is time sensitive. The link can only be used once and will expire after 15 minutes.
- Select Sign in
- If for some reason the sign in button does not work, you can use the link at the bottom of the email
- You will be automatically signed into your Collective dashboard.
Google login setup
If you have not yet connected your Google account:
- Select Login with Google
- Go to your profile page in the upper right corner
- Select Settings
- Select Login
- Select Connect under Additional login methods
- You will be redirected to a new page. Select the account you wish to connect via Google
- Once you select the account, you will be redirected to your Collective dashboard and can now successfully login using Google SSO.
If you have already linked your Google account, make sure you are selecting the account that you previously linked. You can only login using an account that was connected previously.
✅ Pro tip: If you have multiple Google accounts listed, make sure you are using the one you previously connected to your Collective account.
Troubleshooting best practices
1. Check your internet connection
Why: A weak or unstable connection can prevent the MFA code request from being sent or the code input from being recognized properly.
How to fix it:
- Verify you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi or data network.
- Ensure you are not connected to any VPN or other service that may impact connectivity.
- Try refreshing the page or trying from another network (e.g., switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data).
2. Verify your email address
Why: Confirm you entered the correct email address and you are checking the correct inbox
How to fix it:
- Go back to the sign-in page and reenter your email address to ensure there were no typos
- If using a work or school email, ask your IT team to allow emails from our domain (@Collective.com)
3. Try using an incognito/private browsing window
Why: Incognito mode disables browser extensions and cached data that could interfere with the login flow.
How to fix it:
- Open a private/incognito window in your browser.
- Attempt the login or code verification again from that window.
- Try using a different browser (e.g. Chrome) or you can try opening the link in a different browser or a private/incognito window
- If that does not work, you can copy the link from the body of the message.

4. Check for browser extensions interfering with credential autofill
Why: Some password managers or security extensions may try to autofill credentials or interact with the form in unexpected ways, which can cause login errors.
How to fix it:
- If you have any password managers or security extensions enabled (e.g., LastPass, 1Password, Bitwarden) we recommend disabling these extensions temporarily, or switching to an incognito window where extensions are typically disabled by default.
5. Ensure you are using the most recent MFA code sent via email
Why: Codes are time-sensitive and single-use. Using an expired or previously requested code will result in a failed login attempt.
How to fix it:
- Check your email for the most recent code (always use the latest one)
- You can check the time the link was issued in the subject of the message. E.g. Your Collective Login Link - [Apr 24, 2025 | 13:39:08 PST]

- If you’re unsure, click “Resend” on the login screen and wait for a new one to arrive.
Make sure to check your spam/junk/promotions folders for the code and allow a few minutes to pass for the email to appear
✅ Pro Tip (if the issue persists):
- Confirm you are entering the code correctly (e.g., no extra spaces, numbers only).
- Confirm you do not have caps lock enabled when entering in your credentials.
- Make sure you have tried a different browser or device
